China-KAIST Scholarships

Eligibility

-       Candidates will be citizens and permanent residents of the Peoples Republic of China at the time of application.

-       Candidates must not be currently working outside of China.

-       Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their studies and/or research.

-       Candidates must hold an unconditional offer letter from KAIST. They must therefore fulfill the relevant academic entry requirements set by KAIST.

  • Subsidies: Living allowance, round-trip airfare, visa application fees
  • Application Period: Apply to KAIST in December and for the CSC Scholarship in March.
  • Procedures: Indicate CSC as your financial resource in the KAIST application. Apply for the CSC scholarship if admitted to KAIST.

Taiwan-KAIST Scholarship

Eligibility: Citizens of the R.O.C., including those studying outside Taiwan. Only new Ph.D. applicants to KAIST are eligible.

-     Normally, residents in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, or Matsu

  • Subsidies: Tuition fee, annual stipend
  • Procedures: Apply in November following the Taiwan Mission in Korea's guidelines. Indicate the Taiwan Mission in Korea as your financial resource in the KAIST application.

Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Global Scholarship

Eligibility: Citizens of 8 ASEAN countries applying for Master's, Integrated Master's/Doctoral, or Doctoral programs in Science & Engineering, Economics, or Business

  • Subsidies: Tuition fee, monthly learning expense, settlement expense, graduation incentive
  • Procedures: If eligible, you will receive an email to apply for this scholarship right after your admission to KAIST.

POSCO Asia Fellowship (PAF) Program (STEM Fields Only)

Eligibility: Asian citizens (excluding Koreans) applying for Master's, Integrated Master's/Doctoral, or Doctoral programs in STEM fields

  • Subsidies: Tuition fee, monthly living expense, online Korean class, Korean culture experience
  • Procedures: Apply for the POSCO scholarship in May. Indicate POSCO as your financial resource in the KAIST application.
